Terms of Use
These terms apply now. They are written in plain language on purpose. Meld Social Private Limited is in the process of being incorporated in Bangalore, India — when its registration is complete we will republish these terms with the company’s registration number and registered address, and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Nothing about how we treat you changes in the meantime.
Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Meld Social Private Limited, which operates Meld from Bangalore, India. Where these terms say “we”, “us” or “our”, they mean Meld Social Private Limited.
The company’s incorporation is in progress. Until its registration is complete these terms are given, and are binding, on behalf of the business that operates Meld; the registration number and registered address will be added here as soon as they are issued.
You can reach us at any time at support@meld-app.in.
Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using Meld, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who can use Meld
Meld is for adults. You must be 18 or older. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement, and you must not be barred from using a service like this under any law that applies to you. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it.
Your account
Give us accurate information about yourself and keep it accurate. One person, one account — do not create accounts for other people, and do not let someone else use yours. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in method secure and tell us if you think someone else has access.
We verify a phone number when you join. That is how we keep Meld to real people, and it is not optional.
How to behave here
Meld only works if it is a decent place to be. Do not harass, threaten, abuse or impersonate anyone. Do not post sexual content involving minors, non-consensual content, or anything that exists to hurt someone. Do not spam, solicit money, advertise, or use Meld to run a business. Do not scrape the app, break its protections, or use it through automated tools.
If you break these rules we may remove content, restrict what you can do, or close your account — see Ending your account below.
Safety — please read this one
We do not run criminal background checks or identity checks on the people you meet here, and we cannot vouch for anyone. Verifying a phone number proves a number, not a person's character. Take the ordinary precautions you would take meeting any stranger: meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and leave whenever you want to. Trust your own judgement over anything the app tells you.
If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can block or report them from their profile. Every report is read by a person, and we aim to look at it within 24 hours. Blocking takes effect straight away and does not wait for that review — you stop seeing each other immediately.
Where a report is serious we may suspend an account while we look into it, rather than after.
What you post
Your photos, voice notes, prompts and messages remain yours. To show them to the people you want to see them, you give us permission to store, display and adapt that content for the purpose of running Meld — for example resizing a photo, or blurring one where the app is designed to conceal a face. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we are required to keep something for safety or legal reasons.
Only post content you have the right to post, and do not post other people's private information.
The Pulse companion and AI
Meld includes an AI companion and uses AI to help with matching and conversation. What it says is generated, not advice, and it can be wrong. It is not a therapist, a counsellor, a doctor or a lawyer, and it should not be relied on as any of those. How your information is processed by AI is described in the Privacy Policy.
Paid features
Meld is free to use today. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and nothing in the app can charge you.
If we introduce paid features, we will publish the price, what you get for it, how it renews and how to cancel before anything is offered for sale. Any purchase would be made through the App Store or Google Play, under their payment and refund rules as well as these terms.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: You → Delete account. What happens to your data then is set out in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we reasonably believe someone is being put at risk. Where it is fair to do so, we will tell you why.
What we promise, and what we do not
Meld is provided as it is and as it is available. We work to keep it running, accurate and safe, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of faults, that it will introduce you to anyone in particular, or that anything will come of a match.
Meld is a place to meet people. We cannot verify that everyone is who they say they are, and we do not run background checks. Decisions about who you talk to, and who you meet, are yours. Please read the safety section above before you make them.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that is not a reasonably foreseeable result of our breaking these terms — including lost profit, lost data, or anything arising from what another person does, on Meld or away from it. Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹5,000.
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including rights given to you by consumer law that cannot be contracted out of.
If there is a dispute
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
If something goes wrong, please write to support@meld-app.in first. Most things are quicker to sort out that way, and we will reply.
If a dispute cannot be settled that way, the courts at Bangalore, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over it. This does not remove any right you have to complain to a regulator.
Changes to these terms
These terms will change. When something changes in a way that matters to you, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
