Delete your Meld account

You can delete your Meld account yourself, at any time, without asking anyone. This page explains how, exactly what is removed, and what to do if you no longer have the app installed.

If you still have the app

Open Meld and go to You → Delete account. You will be asked to press and hold to confirm, so it cannot happen by accident. You can leave a short parting message to the people you have matched with if you want to; you do not have to.

If you have already uninstalled the app

Email support@meld-app.in from the address you signed up with, with the subject Delete my account. We will confirm the request and delete the account. If you write from a different address we will ask you to verify the original one first — we will not delete an account on the say-so of an address we cannot tie to it.

What happens, and when

Immediately. Your profile stops being visible to anyone. You disappear from other people's decks, likes, lobby and conversations. Every signed-in session is ended, so the account cannot be used from any device.

Within 30 days. Everything is erased: your profile, your photos, your voice recordings, your messages, what your Pulse learned about you, and the record that connects any of it to you. Where a number is needed to keep aggregate statistics honest, your identifier is replaced by a random token that is stored nowhere and cannot be reversed.

The two things that do not disappear, and why

A goodbye you chose to send. If you left a parting message, the people you sent it to keep it. It is theirs, not ours, and deleting your account does not reach into someone else's conversation to remove something you said to them.

A safety report made about you. If someone reported you, that report survives. Otherwise deleting and re-registering would erase the record, which is exactly what somebody being reported would want.

Changing your mind

Inside the 30 days, write to support@meld-app.in from the address on the account and we can lift it. After the 30 days there is nothing left to restore, by design.

Deleting is not the only option. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask for a copy. Write to support@meld-app.in. How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy.
