Privacy at Meld
Meld exists to introduce you to people. Doing that well means we hold things you tell us that are personal — this page says plainly what we hold, what we do with it, and how you take it back.
What we collect
Your account. Email address, and your phone number when you verify it.
Your profile. What you add while setting up: your name, date of birth, photos, a voice note if you record one, your city, and profile answers — which can include things like your languages, education, work, and, if you choose to share them, religion, community, and astrological details.
How you use Meld. Who you like or pass on and the reasons you give, your conversations and whispers in rooms, what you tell your Pulse companion, and preferences you set.
Location. Your city — either the one you pick, or one derived from your device location if you allow that. We do not track your movements.
How we use it
To match you with people, to run your Pulse companion, to keep the community safe (reviewing reports), and to run the service. That's it.
AI is part of how Meld works. Your profile, messages, and companion conversations are processed by AI systems — including third-party AI providers acting on our behalf — to power matching, conversation, and the Pulse companion. What your Pulse learns about you is used within Meld and is not shared with other users beyond what you choose to reveal.
What we share
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. Other users see what you choose to show at the privacy tier you set. Service providers that host our infrastructure, deliver email, or provide AI processing handle data only to run Meld for us.
Reports and safety
When you report someone, we store the report — who reported, who was reported, the reason, and any details you add — and a human reviews it. Reports are not shown to the person you reported.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account inside the app: You → Delete account. From that moment your profile is hidden from everyone, your sessions are signed out, and your matches see only that you left. Your data is permanently erased within 30 days. If you deleted by mistake, contact us within those 30 days.
Your choices
You control what your profile shows through privacy tiers, you can edit or remove profile details at any time, and you can ask us what we hold about you.
Age
Meld is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it.
